No one will confuse Charles Davalan for Shohei Ohtani, but that doesn't mean the 2025 Draft pick can't reach the seats every now and then.
Or in this case, twice in one game ... again.
The Dodgers' No. 8 prospect clubbed his second multihomer game this month and collected a season-high three hits for High-A Great Lakes, which dropped a 10-8 decision to Beloit on Tuesday afternoon at ABC Supply Stadium.
Davalan jumpstarted the Loons' offense by ripping the fourth pitch of the game off Carson Laws (Marlins) over the right-center-field fence for a homer, the first leadoff shot of his pro career. The 22-year-old produced a near carbon copy of his first AB with another roundtripper to right-center in the third and concluded his three-hit effort with an infield single to second in the sixth.
Davalan also went deep twice on April 5, which accounted for his first two hits of the year.
The performance continued a strong opening three weeks of the season for Davalan, who was selected 41st overall in last year's Draft out of Arkansas. The 5-foot-9, 190-pounder carried his collegiate success straight into the pro ranks, hitting safely in seven of his eight games while batting .500 (17-for-34) with five extra-base hits and 10 RBIs in the Single-A California League.
COMPLETE DODGERS PROSPECT COVERAGE
Davalan, who hails from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, but attended high school in Florida, has shown no signs of slowing down in 2026. Using a slightly crouched stance and unloading with a compact, yet powerful swing, Davalan has been a consistent and steady offensive force atop the Great Lakes' lineup this season.
The outfielder has reached base in 12 of his 15 games, slashing .321/.415/.607 with eight extra-base hits, 11 RBIs and 10 runs. Davalan has been especially hot lately, tallying three of his seven multihit games in succession. After a pair of 0-fers dropped his average to .250 on Friday, he's gone 7-for-12 with three RBIs and a pair of walks.

Davalan's early-season numbers are tracking in an eerily similar pattern to how he finished his collegiate career. During his lone season with Arkansas -- Davalan transferred from Florida Gulf Coast following 2024 -- he batted .346 with 14 homers and a .994 OPS to earn Second-Team All-American and First-Team All SEC honors.
A high-contact, low-strikeout hitter, Davalan was the Dodgers' second selection of the 2025 Draft, a pick obtained during a January 2025 trade that sent Gavin Lux to the Reds and also brought Mike Sirota (LAD No. 4) to the West Coast.
Ironically, Davalan was preceded in the Draft by Razorbacks teammate Zach Root (LAD No. 12), whom Los Angeles selected with the 40th pick.
