Jefferson Rojas, the Cubs’ No. 2 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 64 overall, continued a career year on Sunday.
The 21-year-old infielder posted two hits -- a game-winning home run and a double -- during Double-A Knoxville’s 6-5 extra-innings victory over Rocket City at Toyota Field. With his 15th long ball of the season, Rojas became the first Cubs Minor Leaguer to reach 15 homers and 15 steals in 2026.
Rojas found his clutch gene in the 10th inning. With two outs and a man on third in a 4-4 game, he delivered a laser that snuck over the wall in left-center field. The extra run proved to be necessary, too, as Rocket City answered with one run in the home half but couldn’t tie things back up.
Rojas’ double came in the third inning, a line drive to left field, though he was left stranded at second base.

The 2-for-5 performance gave Rojas five hits in his past five games, including three that went for extra bases. He’s starting to turn around what had been a slow July to this point.
Rojas, however, already surpassed his previous career-high of 11 home runs in late June and is currently sporting an overall .805 OPS that would be his best in five Minor League seasons.
