Little League legend Mo'ne Davis threw out the first pitch before a Double-A game between the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants’ affiliate) and Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies) at Dunkin' Park on Wednesday.
Making the occasion even more special is that she threw the first pitch to Flying Squirrels outfielder Scott Bandura, a longtime friend and teammate of Davis’ on the 2014 Philadelphia Taney Dragons squad.
Davis made national and global headlines in 2014 as a young girl dominating at the Little League World Series. She later took her talents to play softball at Hampton University and will continue her baseball journey in the Women’s Pro Baseball League later this year. She also recently made an appearance for the Indianapolis Clowns in the Banana Ball league.
