Reddick does his best to one-up Buxton

May 2nd, 2019

MINNEAPOLIS -- Astros outfielder wasn’t about to let Twins outfielder dominate the highlight reels of Houston's 8-2 loss to Minnesota on Thursday afternoon.

Only a few moments after Buxton made a long run for a great catch at the wall in right-center field to rob of a hit in the fourth inning, Reddick ran into the gap in right-center field and made a great backhanded diving catch to rob Eddie Rosario of extra bases in the bottom of the fourth inning. He had to cover 79 feet in 4.8 seconds to make the play, according to Statcast.

While Buxton’s catch ranked as a five-star play with a 15 percent catch probability, Reddick came in at a solid 50 percent catch probability – rated as a four-star catch. Astros starter was so pumped up he raised his arms in appreciation and acknowledgement of the diving snag.

Things quickly unraveled for Peacock, though, with eight of the next nine Twins hitters reaching base and six of them scoring to put Minnesota ahead, 7-1, by the end of the fourth inning.
