Director, Baseball Operations
Anthony Cacchione enters his eighth season with the Astros organization. In his role as Baseball Operations Senior Director, Cacchione oversees the club’s Major League operations and assists in player acquisition.
Cacchione joined the organization in 2019 as a Baseball Operations Apprentice where he supported the needs of the Major League operations group. He later served as Coordinator, Baseball Operations (2020-2021), Manager, Baseball Operations (2022-2023), and Director, Baseball Operations (2024-2025). As Director, Baseball Operations, Cacchione focused on Major League roster management, rules compliance, and assisted the General Manager with player acquisitions, negotiations, as well as other aspects of baseball operations.
Cacchione holds a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from The City College of New York, where he played baseball and was inducted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2025. Born in St. Louis, MO., he now resides in Houston.
