Senior Director, Baseball Strategy
Bill Firkus joined the Astros in July 2013 and was named Senior Director of Baseball Strategy in 2019. Prior to his current role, Bill served as the Astros’ Director of Sports Medicine and Performance for four years. Firkus now oversees the team that advises Baseball Operations leadership on major league roster management and in-game strategy. Prior to joining the Astros, Bill’s work in the healthcare field included nearly three years in healthcare investment banking with Piper Jaffray and nearly four years in marketing and strategy with Medtronic, the largest medical device manufacturer in the world.
Bill received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. He resides in Houston.
