Each club has until 5 p.m. ET on Monday, July 27, to come to terms with its Draft selections. If a player has exhausted his collegiate eligibility, he can sign at any time up until one week prior to the next year’s Draft.

His deal, about $1 million below the pick value, surpassed 2024 first-rounders Chase Burns (Reds) and Charlie Condon (Rockies), who each signed for $9.3 million. Touted as the best college shortstop since Troy Tulowitzki, Cholowsky has four tools graded 60 or higher, headlined by his elite fielding skills.
