Athletics Probable Pitchers

Kaprielian will be taking the mound for his first Major League start. The right-hander made his first start of the year for Triple-A Las Vegas last week, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings.

Rodriguez didn't have good fastball command in his last start, but did well enough with his offspeed stuff to hold the Orioles to one run over five innings to get the win. The lefty has pitched five innings or more in his last 34 starts, the second-longest active streak in the Majors behind Shane Bieber.

Manaea took a no-hitter into the eighth inning his last time out before finishing with one run allowed on two hits over 7 1/3 innings in a win over the Rays. The left-hander is 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA over his last six starts.

After a shaky start to the season, Richards is locking in. In his last three starts, he is 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA. Lifetime against Oakland, Richards is 3-4 with a 4.29 ERA in 18 games (14 starts).

Montas held the Rays to two runs in 5 1/3 innings his last time out to record his team-leading fourth win of the season.

Shoemaker will kick off a six-game homestand for the Twins. In his previous start at Target Field, on May 1, Shoemaker lasted just 3 1/3 innings while allowing nine runs (eight earned) in an 11-3 loss to the Royals.

Irvin's outing of four runs (three earned) allowed over six innings his last time out marked the first time he's given up more than two runs in a start since April 8. The left-hander has been a revelation for Oakland, posting a 3.29 ERA in seven starts this season.

Berríos has faced the A's once already this season, allowing just one run in five innings but taking the loss in Oakland on April 20. He'll get a chance to redeem himself against the A's at Target Field.

Bassitt has allowed just two runs in each of his last six starts. The right-hander is also striking out batters in bunches, recording a season-high 10 punchouts in a win over the Red Sox his last time out.

Sitting at 2-2 on the season, Kenta Maeda hopes to get back above .500 in the series finale against the A's. In his previous outing against Oakland, on April 21, Maeda took a no-decision after allowing seven runs in three innings.
