INTRODUCTION

The Blue Jays Baseball Academy will be traveling to Truro, Halifax, and Kentville from August 9 – August 11, hosting a number of youth baseball related events that include instructional clinics, a girls clinic, and a Challenger Baseball Game.

INSTRUCTIONAL CLINICS

The Blue Jays Baseball Academy are hosting one day, four-hour Instructional Clinics for beginner baseball players aged 8-13.

Players rotate through drills that cover skills including: infield, outfield, hitting, throwing, agility, and baserunning. Instructional Clinic registrants will also participate in a Baseball Athletic Training station which serves as an introduction to fundamental athletic movement.

Instructional Clinics are taught by Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructors. Academy Instructors are NCCP registered, experienced coaches, who have been trained in the ‘Blue Jays Way’ of teaching baseball to youth.

Participants receive a Blue Jays hat, t-shirt and digital baseball skills manual.

Cost: $89.00 (plus HST) per participant

GIRLS CLINIC

The Blue Jays Baseball Academy are hosting a one day, three-hour girls clinic for kids aged 7-15. This event resembles an Instructional Clinic, with a focus on welcoming those who identity as a girl.

Players rotate through drills that cover skills including: infield, outfield, hitting, throwing, agility, and baserunning. Instructional Clinic registrants will also participate in a Baseball Athletic Training station which serves as an introduction to fundamental athletic movement.

Girls clinics are taught by Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructors. Academy Instructors are NCCP registered, experienced coaches, who have been trained in the ‘Blue Jays Way’ of teaching baseball to youth.

Participants receive a Blue Jays hat, t-shirt and digital baseball skills manual.

Cost: $49.00 (plus HST) per participant.

CHALLENGER BASEBALL

The Blue Jays Baseball Academy are hosting a Challenger Baseball Game on Wednesday, August 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Penhorn Field in Dartmouth, NS.

Challenger Baseball is an adaptive program that provides an opportunity for children, youth and adults living with cognitive and/or physical disabilities to enjoy the full benefits of participating in organized baseball at a level structured to their abilities. Baseball is designed to provide your athlete with a great opportunity to connect with peers and strengthen life skills, baseball skills, and ties within the community.

Information about how to register for this event will be made available soon through Nova Scotia Challenger Baseball. If you have any questions, please email randy.crouse@hotmail.com. There is no cost to attend this event.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All registered participants receive a confirmation email after registering for an event. An information email about the event is sent out roughly five days prior to the event date and will contain details including when to arrive, what to bring and if necessary, details on the inclement weather plan.

REFUND POLICY

A full refund, less a $10 administration fee, will be granted if registration is cancelled at least 48 hours prior to clinic date. Any cancellations within 48 hours of the clinic will not receive a refund, with the exception of a participant who is feeling ill.
