INTRODUCTION
The Blue Jays Baseball Academy host one day Clinics for beginner baseball players aged 8-12.
Players rotate through drills that cover skills including: infield, outfield, hitting, throwing, agility, and baserunning. Clinic registrants will also participate in a Baseball Athletic Training station which serves as an introduction to fundamental athletic movement.
Clinics are taught exclusively by Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructors. Academy Instructors are NCCP registered, experienced coaches, who have been trained in the ‘Blue Jays Way’ of teaching baseball to youth.
Participants receive a Blue Jays hat, t-shirt and digital baseball skills manual.
This year clinics are taking place in Ontario, Alberta and New Brunswick. To find out more of what is happening in each location, please click on your province below.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE I GO?
All registered participants will receive a confirmation email after registering for a clinic. An information email about the clinic is sent out roughly five days prior to the clinic date and will contain details about the clinic including when to arrive, what to bring and if necessary, details on the inclement weather plan. Receipts will be emailed to participants at least two business days after registering.
WHAT SKILL LEVEL IS THE CLINIC DESIGNED FOR?
All skill levels are welcome to join us at the Clinic! With that said, content and drills are geared towards beginner-level players.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY PLAYER BRING?
All players are asked to bring a baseball glove, bat, helmet, baseball cleats or running shoes. Some bats and helmets will be available for those who do not own those items.
WHAT SHOULD MY PLAYER WEAR?
Players are asked to dress in appropriate athletic attire and sunscreen based on the climate that day. All registered players will receive a Blue Jays Baseball Academy T-Shirt and Hat to wear on field! Players will also be given a nametag that indicated their group colour.
ARE PLAYERS PROVIDED LUNCH?
No. Players will not be provided food at the clinic. With that said, please bring enough water and snacks as there will be two ten-minute breaks, and one 20 minute break.
CAN I MAKE A GROUP/FRIEND REQUEST FOR MY PLAYER?
Group requests can be made 3-5 days prior to the clinic. We will do our best to accommodate as many group requests as possible, but these requests are NOT GUARANTEED.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
We recommend players arrive 20-30 minutes before clinic start time to ensure everyone is checked-in and ready to play in time!
DO PARENTS NEED TO STAY?
Parents are not required to stay on-site, though they are most welcome! If parents choose to drop their player off and leave the field, we strongly encourage that folks return to the field 20 minutes before end time to ensure all players are taken care of.
WILL MERCHANDISE BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?
No. Toronto Blue Jays merchandise (i.e. hats, jerseys, etc.) will not be available to purchase at the event.
WILL I BE ABLE TO SEE PHOTOS FROM THE DAY?
Any media coverage taken at the Clinic will not be distributed to parents individually. With that said, folks are welcome to enjoy photo and video coverage featured on our social media and website! You can find us on Instagram and X @bluejaysacademy.
