SunTrust Park Rainout Policy

Thursday, May 17 Game

The Thursday, May 17 Atlanta Braves game versus the Chicago Cubs has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game is rescheduled for 7:35 p.m. on Thursday, August 30. 

All guests with a ticket for the May 17 game should hold onto their ticket to be allowed admission to the rescheduled game on Thursday, August 30 at 7:35 p.m. for the same seat. Mobile tickets will remain available in the MLB Ballpark app for the rescheduled date. Guests with a pre-paid parking pass can use the same parking lot and barcode for the rescheduled game.

Guests who are unable to attend the rescheduled game can exchange their paid ticket for a ticket to any remaining 2018 regular season Braves home game*. Ticket exchanges must take place before the rescheduled game is played on August 30. A-List Members and Club Members will receive an email informing them of their ticket options.

All guests who purchased their tickets through StubHub! should hold onto their ticket and use it for the same seat to the rescheduled date. Any specific StubHub! inquiries can be directed to StubHub! at 866-788-2482.

Guests may begin exchanging their tickets on Friday, May 18 at 10 a.m. at any SunTrust Park ticket window or by mail. Check back here, at braves.com/rainout for all up-to-date information.


If a game that is legal under Major League Baseball rules is not played on date on the game ticket, one of the following rain check rules will apply:

  • If less than 5 innings of a game (4 and 1/2 innings, if the Braves are ahead) are played, your paid ticket serves as a rain check coupon and will be valid for the re-scheduled game. If you choose to not come back to the re-scheduled game, your original ticket may be exchanged online through your Braves Account or at the SunTrust Park ticket office windows for a ticket of the same price (if available) for any succeeding regular season game. This ticket exchange must occur before the re-scheduled game is made up.There are no refunds or exchanges of expired tickets or of complimentary tickets.
  • If less than 5 innings of a game (4 and 1/2 innings, if the Braves are ahead) are played, and the game is rescheduled as part of a traditional doubleheader (two games played back-to-back with a 30 minute window between), your paid ticket serves as a rain check coupon and will be valid to be exchanged at the SunTrust Park ticket office windows for a ticket of the same price (if available) for any succeeding regular season game. This ticket exchange must occur before the re-scheduled game is made up. There are no refunds or exchanges of expired tickets or of complimentary tickets.
  • If less than 5 innings of a game (4 and 1/2 innings, if the Braves are ahead) are played, and the game is rescheduled as part of a split day/night doubleheader, your paid ticket serves as a rain check coupon and will be valid for the re-scheduled game (you will need to purchase a separate ticket to enter the regularly scheduled game on this date). If you choose to not come back to the re-scheduled game, your original ticket may be exchanged online through your Braves Account or at the SunTrust Park ticket office windows for a ticket of the same price (if available) for any succeeding regular season game. This ticket exchange must occur before the re-scheduled game is made up. There are no refunds or exchanges of expired tickets or of complimentary tickets.
  • If more than 4 and 1/2 innings of a game are played and the game becomes official then is later postponed, rain check policies do not apply.
