MILWAUKEE -- With Spring Training on the way, it’s time to get to know the Brewers’ non-roster invitees.

Milwaukee has shown a knack in recent years for uncovering gems by extending Minor League contracts with invitations to big league camp. Jace Peterson, Brad Boxberger, Hoby Milner and Colin Rea were all non-roster invitees from 2021-23. In 2024, Tobias Myers and Jared Koenig parlayed the opportunity into Most Valuable Pitcher and “Unsung Hero” honors from the Milwaukee chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Jake Bauers and top pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski were among the key non-roster invitees in 2025 who wound up playing significant roles in the Majors.

So don’t sleep on this crop of players. Here is a running list of Milwaukee’s invitees to date:

RHP Gerson Garabito
Like Rea several seasons ago, Garabito is trying to parlay a successful stint in Asia to an opportunity in the big leagues. The 30-year-old from the Dominican Republic ended the 2024 season and began the 2025 season in the Major Leagues with the Rangers, but he was sent down last year after three appearances and struggled to the tune of an 0-7 record and 8.81 ERA in 10 starts at Triple-A Round Rock. He went to South Korea for the remainder of the year and had much better success, recording a 3.56 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 78 1/3 innings (15 starts) in the KBO.

LHP Drew Rom
The Cardinals had high hopes when they acquired Rom as one of three prospects in the Jack Flaherty deal at the 2023 Trade Deadline. A fourth-round Draft pick in 2018, Rom was MLB Pipeline’s No. 18 Orioles prospect at the time, but he had an 8.02 ERA and surrendered seven home runs in eight starts down the stretch before undergoing shoulder surgery the following spring that sidelined him for all of 2024 and limited him to seven starts in the Minors in ‘25. He is still just 26 years old.

INF/OF Greg Jones
A first-round Draft pick of the Rays in 2019, Jones has already played in four organizations, including brief stints in the Majors with the Rockies in 2024 and the White Sox in 2025. He profiles as the sort of player the Brewers love, with speed (172 stolen bases in six seasons in the Minors), defensive versatility at premium positions (shortstop and center field) and a little power (three seasons of double-digit homers). Not to mention, he’s a switch-hitter.

INF Eddys Leonard
Among the Brewers’ chief organizational needs is power, and Leonard has hit double-digit homers in each of the past five seasons while primarily playing all over the infield and outfield, including extensive starts at shortstop. He hit 20 home runs with 11 steals in 126 games at Triple-A Gwinnett last season in the Atlanta system but is still awaiting his Major League debut.

INF/OF Eduardo Garcia
Garcia signed with the Brewers for $1.1 million on his 16th birthday after MLB Pipeline ranked him as the No. 24 prospect for the 2018-19 international period, and he once ranked among Milwaukee’s top 10 prospects. He’s no longer among Pipeline’s Top 30 but has touched the Double-A level in each of the past two seasons and is still just 23 years old. He’s coming off a career year on the basepaths; he stole 41 bags in 129 games, up from his previous high of 15.

C Darrien Miller
A veteran of Milwaukee’s big league camp, Miller has been with the Brewers since they drafted him out of high school in the ninth round in 2019. He’s spent the past two seasons at Double-A Biloxi, where he’s batted .203/.387/.308, with nearly as many walks (121) as strikeouts (159).
