With Pratt promoted, Williams homers twice at Triple-A

The Brewers’ loaded farm system just landed one highly anticipated prospect in the Major Leagues, as Cooper Pratt (MLB Pipeline’s No. 63 prospect) made his debut for Milwaukee on Tuesday. It now looks like another of the Crew’s five top-100 prospects is pushing toward his debut.

(MIL No. 3, MLB No. 57) went deep twice for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, his first multi-homer game of the season and his first at the level after spending 40 games there across 2024 and 2025. The headliner in the Freddy Peralta trade this offseason, Williams has homered three times in the past week while racking up six RBIs. However, Nashville fell to Memphis, 12-5, in a big offensive day at AutoZone Park.

Jett first took off in the fifth inning, handling a fastball away to the tune of a 101.1 mph exit velocity and a projected 379 feet over the right-center wall. That was key at the time, with the solo shot keeping the game close at 5-3 before Memphis pulled away in the home half.

Williams’ second long ball -- another solo homer -- came in the ninth inning. He took a hanging slider and destroyed it to straightaway center field, leaving the bat at 102.1 mph and carrying a projected 412 feet.

Finishing 2-for-5 on the day, Williams also peppered a line drive at 100.9 mph in the seventh that went straight to the shortstop’s glove. Williams has taken some time to adjust to the highest level of the Minor Leagues, posting a .227 average thus far, though his slugging and plate discipline have helped him reach a .719 OPS.

Williams’ versatility has been a big boost, too. With Pratt, Williams, Jesús Made (MLB No. 1) and Luis Peña (MLB No. 16) all profiling as shortstops, Williams has mostly worked this season at third base and center field.
