New No. 1 prospect Made smacks walk-off for Double-A Biloxi

“What can’t he do?!”

has us all thinking it while he continues his march up the Minor League ladder. Double-A Biloxi broadcaster Javik Blake simply said it out loud Wednesday night as Made added another show-stopping moment to his resume.

Made, freshly elevated to MLB Pipeline’s No. 1 overall prospect, roped a walk-off hit for Biloxi to secure a 4-3 win over Birmingham at Keesler Federal Park. This marks the second walk-off of the 19-year-old Brewers prospect’s career, joining an 11th-inning single last season in Single-A.

On Wednesday, Made stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and one out, with the switch-hitter batting left against a righty. The shortstop drove a 1-1 pitch the opposite way and over the head of a pulled-in left fielder.

The ball bounced for what would’ve been an automatic double, but Made never made it to second base as teammates mobbed him before he could do so. We’re guessing he’ll be content with the single to go alongside a thrilling win.

Made went 2-for-5 on the night, adding a fifth-inning single to the walk-off. That gave him four multi-hit outings in May and at least one RBI in six consecutive games.
