Injury: Right wrist soreness
Expected return: 2027
The 2026 No. 1 overall Draft pick's season has come to a close. Cholowsky -- who was out of High-A Winston-Salem's lineup since Aug. 15 -- will take the rest of the year to recover from right wrist soreness. Through nine pro games, he hit just .167 but racked up 10 RBIs and reached base 15 times. A consensus first-team All-American this spring for UCLA, the 21-year-old slashed .320/.452/.636 with 21 homers across 60 games, helping lead his club to an NCAA Tournament appearance. No. 62 Billy Carlson, SS, White Sox
Injury: Left leg infection
Expected return: 2027
Carlson will be shut down from game action for the rest of the season as he deals with a skin infection on his left leg and the ensuing treatment. The 2025 first-rounder was placed on the injured list on Aug. 12 after last appearing in a game for Single-A Kannapolis on Aug. 9. Status: Placed on 7-day injured list
De Vries last appeared for Double-A Midland on Aug. 14 before being officially placed on the injured list on Aug. 18. The switch-hitting infielder is hitting .290 with an .836 OPS through 93 games, including swiping 34 bags on 39 attempts. (Last updated: Aug. 20)
No. 7 Seth Hernandez, RHP, Pirates
Injury: Left oblique strain
Expected return: 2027
Hernandez is expected to miss the remainder of his debut campaign after he landed on the injured list due to a left oblique strain he sustained in his July 24 start for High-A Greensboro. At the time of his injury, the 20-year-old ranked fourth in the Minors in strikeouts (118) and second in strikeout rate (40.4 percent) and posted a 2.43 ERA across 74 innings between two levels of A-ball. No. 16 Mike Sirota, OF, Dodgers
Injury: Left elbow
Expected return: TBD
Sirota took an 86 mph breaking pitch off his left elbow in the sixth inning of Double-A Tulsa's Aug. 14 game. The 23-year-old outfielder was able to jog down to first base after talking with team staffers and later exited the contest in the eighth. Sirota has remained out since. The 2024 third-round pick by the Reds is slashing .315/.468/.551 with 17 homers, 93 runs, 62 RBIs and 91 walks across two levels in his second professional campaign and had a MiLB season-best 72-game on-base streak earlier year. Injury: Right hamstring strain

Duno last appeared in a game for Double-A Chattanooga on July 29, when he legged out a single in the seventh inning and immediately started limping. Attended by trainers, he attempted to jog along the foul line before leaving the game. He was officially placed on the 7-day injured list retroactive to Aug. 3. No. 25 Ethan Holliday, SS, Rockies
Injury: Stress fracture in left foot
Expected return: 2027
Holliday will undergo surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot and miss the remainder of the season, a source told MLB.com's Thomas Harding on May 29. Holliday, 19, batted .262 with nine home runs and 32 RBIs over 33 games in his first full professional season, but the No. 4 pick from the 2025 Draft had been red-hot during the month of May, producing a 1.083 OPS with 11 extra-base hits and 17 RBIs in 15 games. No. 37 Thomas White, LHP, Marlins
Injury: Left shoulder capsular sprain
Expected return: Mid-August to September
The 21-year-old landed on the Minor League IL back on May 20, before it was revealed he'd be down for the next 12-to-16 weeks due to a left shoulder capsular sprain. White had the start of his season delayed due to an oblique strain, before returning to strike out 35 batters in 24 2/3 frames across two levels. (Last updated: June 5)

Injury: Torn UCL
Expected return: Potentially late 2026
After an MRI unveiled a torn UCL, the right-hander underwent UCL reconstruction last August. The 21-year-old had been one of the Minor Leagues' most dominant pitchers last season, registering a 1.79 ERA across 12 starts while reaching Double-A. (Last updated: Feb. 26)
No. 53 Robby Snelling, LHP, Marlins
Injury: Left elbow UCL sprain
Expected return: TBD
Snelling will undergo left elbow surgery on May 22. The southpaw landed on the 15-day injured list on May 13, just five days after his Major League debut. Miami manager Clayton McCullough said Snelling reported some discomfort after a May 12 bullpen session. Imaging revealed a UCL sprain in his throwing elbow, and he was moved to the 60-day injured list. The 22-year-old had a 1.86 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 29 innings at Triple-A this season and gave up three runs over five innings in his lone big league outing. (Last updated: May 21)
No. 60 Tate Southisene, 2B/SS, Braves

After receiving his second promotion of the season to Double-A, Southisene was hit by a pitch on his right wrist in his second at-bat during his Columbus debut on July 28 and exited the game the following inning. The Clingstones subsequently put him on the seven-day IL. The 19-year-old infielder stands first in runs (72), second in walks (65) and tied for second in stolen bases (45) in the Braves' system. Southisene hit .279/.408/.469 between Single-A Augusta and High-A Rome this season and is tied for 11th in the Minors in steals. (Last updated: July 29)
No. 61 Aidan Miller, SS, Phillies
Injury: Back discomfort
Expected return: 6-8 weeks
Miller was diagnosed with discogenic pain and facet inflammation in the lumbar spine, and he will undergo a minimally invasive procedure called a radiofrequency ablation of the facet joints. The issue first flared up last year, when Miller missed the final few games of the 2025 Minor League season and was pulled from participating in the Arizona Fall League due to similar discomfort. Back pain returned when he resumed baseball activities in May. He will undergo the procedure on June 5 and rest for one week before returning to his rehab. Injury: Hamstring

The right-hander has been slowed by injuries throughout his pro career, but the setback isn't considered serious. After missing time with a hamstring issue earlier this season, Ryan felt a twinge in his hamstring after his last start on June 17 against Triple-A Sacramento and the club decided to skip his next scheduled start. Rather than skip another turn in the rotation, he was put on the IL. On Aug. 1 he was traded to the Tigers as part of the Tarik Skubal deal, and Detroit optioned him to Triple-A Toledo.
