Los D-backs Initiatives
Following the success of the original City Connect jerseys in 2021, the Nike City Connect "Serpientes" uniforms were rejuvenated in 2025 to bring a fresh and visually dynamic interpretation of the team’s connection to Arizona, drawing inspiration from previous Diamondbacks jerseys, the state’s rich Hispanic community, and Arizona’s desert surroundings. The name “Serpientes,” Spanish for snakes, symbolizes the Diamondbacks’ fierce competitive nature and connects directly with the team's identity
The Arizona Diamondbacks are proud to have the Los D-backs Hispanic Council as part of the organization to work alongside the team enhancing the relationship between the D-backs and the Hispanic Community. The Council is comprised of local Hispanic and minority business professionals.
The Pete García Hispanic Leadership Award was created by the Arizona Diamondbacks to recognize individuals for their advocacy, leadership and service to the Arizona community. The award was named after its first recipient, Pete García, a Phoenix native and former President and CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC). The award recipients are nominated and selected by the Los D-backs Hispanic Council and recognized as part of the annual Hispanic Heritage Weekend celebrations. More Info
