Padres challenge, get call overturned vs. Rockies

DENVER -- San Diego's Bud Black used his manager's challenge in the first inning to contest a close play at first base when Colorado's Drew Stubbs was originally called safe on a ball hit to shortstop Alexi Amarista.

After a brief review, the replay official ruled that Stubbs was out and thus the call was overturned.

Padres starter Joe Wieland, who had Tommy John surgery in 2012 and was making his first Major League start since May 6 of that season, finished the inning without further incident.
