Peter Seidler Celebration of Life moved up; Padres FanFest cancelled

FanFest Ticketholders Will Have Opportunity to Claim Free Tickets to Exhibition Game of Their Choice Next Week in Select Seating Areas While Tickets Remain

March 22nd, 2024

SAN DIEGO – Due to expected inclement weather this weekend, including the possibility of thunderstorms, heavy rain and gusty winds, the Padres have moved up the Peter Seidler Celebration of Life ceremony by two hours on Saturday (3/23) and cancelled FanFest on Sunday (3/24) while offering FanFest ticketholders access to free tickets to the exhibition game of their choice next week while tickets remain.

The Padres will honor their beloved former Chairman and Owner, Peter Seidler, with a celebration of life ceremony at Petco Park on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. PT. The Home Plate Gate will open to fans at 10:00 a.m. PT, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is free of charge and will be available in neighboring Padres-controlled lots, including the Lexus Premier Lot, Tailgate Lot and Padres Parkade. Fans will also be able to watch a live stream of the ceremony at www.padres.com.

FanFest ticketholders will have the opportunity to claim up to four (4) free tickets to attend either Monday’s 6:40 p.m. PT exhibition game against the Seattle Mariners at Petco Park, or Tuesday’s 1:10 p.m. PT contest, while tickets remain. Seating for the complimentary tickets will be in the upper deck, right field upper level, left field reserved and Gallagher Square, and they will be available to claim at www.padres.com/FanFest. In recognition of the 20th Anniversary of Petco Park this season, tickets for the lower seating bowl are still available for purchase for $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 14 and under at www.padres.com/tickets.

All gates for Monday’s exhibition game will open early at 3:00 p.m. PT to allow fans the opportunity to explore the newly renovated Gallagher Square and watch the Padres take batting practice, which will feature a “golden ball” promotion where certain baseballs will have gold stitching. Lucky fans who receive a gold ball can present it at the Padres New Era Team Store for a Padres replica jersey of their choice. The Petco Park video board will also feature advanced player performance metrics throughout the duration of batting practice so fans can see how far, fast and high balls travel. Padres alumni will also be on hand prior to Monday’s exhibition game to conduct autograph sessions from 3:30-5:30 p.m. PT and a youth baseball clinic at the new and improved Play Ball Field in Gallagher Square. Lastly, a leadership forum will be held after Padres batting practice on Monday including interviews with Padres broadcasters, manager Mike Shildt, CEO Erik Greupner, and President of Baseball Operations & General Manager A.J. Preller.

The fan-favorite Padres Foundation Garage Sale will take place at both Monday and Tuesday’s exhibition games, featuring memorabilia, one-of-a-kind Padres items, collectibles and more at the Park Blvd Plaza. All proceeds from the garage sale will benefit the Padres Foundation’s charitable efforts.

Following Tuesday’s 1:10 p.m. exhibition, families will be able to stick around after the game for Kids Run the Bases on the playing field.
