2023 HIGHLIGHTS
Pirates Charities hosted the second annual Family Walk presented by Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Saturday, May 20 where Pirates players and coaches, front office staff, partners, mascots and fans gathered just before 9 AM at PNC Park to walk together for mental health.
Between upbeat music, a bubble kick off and time spent with Pirates celebrities such as Manager Derek Shelton, pitching coach Oscar Marin, bench coach Don Kelly, pitchers Colin Holderman and David Bednar, and beloved alumni Steve Blass, this was certainly a memorable morning for participants.
Thanks to our Master of ceremonies, Pirates in-game host Joe Klimchak, participants were able to enjoy every moment of the walk and stay mindful of the amazing experience of walking together in support of each otherās own, unique, mental health journey.
This event is key to reducing stigmas surrounding mental health while raising funds that support important mental health programming in the Pittsburgh area, such as Pirates Charities and AHNās CHILL Mobile program.
