PIRATES CHARITIES SPRING TRAINING GOLF CLASSIC

The 13th annual Pirates Charities Spring Training Golf Classic, presented by TLI Sports, took place on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the River Wilderness Golf and Country Club in Parrish, Florida. Participants had the opportunity to enjoy a round of golf with a Pirates celebrity while supporting the efforts of Pirates Charities in Manatee County.

The Pirates are welcomed by the City of Bradenton and Manatee County each year for Spring Training. In turn, Pirates Charities gives back in Manatee County in a number of ways, including:

  • The Fields for Kids program, which provides matching grants to youth sports organizations and recreation centers to make improvements to their facilities. Pirates Charities has made 46 grants in Manatee County since the program began in 2011.
  • The "Adopt-a-School" program in Bradenton and Manatee County, where Pirates Charities works with Manatee Education Foundation and The Mosaic Company to distribute books, supplies and educational programs to elementary schools in the region.
  • Support of the Bradenton RBI program by donating uniforms, equipment and even transportation to the RBI Regional Tournament.

The proceeds from the 2020 Spring Training Golf Classic will be used to fund important programs like these in the Bradenton community.
