High School, where in addition to starring on the baseball team he also set school records as the school's quarterback...played at Clemson, where he was an ACC Academic Honor Roll member...in May 2020 graduated from Clemson with a degree in management...uncle is Bill Spiers, who was drafted in the first round by the Brewers in 1987 and played 13 Major League seasons.

Appeared on his first career Opening Day roster...went 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA in four games (one start) for the Reds during the 2025 Cactus League season...On 4/1 vs. Texas suffered the loss in his 2025 debut despite turning in his third career quality start (6 IP, 3 H, 1 R/1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 HR)...Optioned to AAA-Louisville on 4/8...recalled on 4/18...was originally scheduled to start the 4/20 game at BAL, but entered in relief of Hunter Greene on 4/19...On 4/20 was placed on the 15-day injured list (right shoulder impingement)...transferred to the 60-day injured list on 5/23...from 7/3-7/19 made four starts during a rehab assignment split between the R-ACL Reds (1 GS) and AAA-Louisville (3 GS)...returned from his rehab assignment on 7/20 (right bicep soreness)...Underwent surgery on his right elbow to reconstruct the ulnar collateral ligament on 8/13.

Made his Major League debut with two starts and two relief appearances during three stints with the Reds...Was one of six Reds pitchers to make his Major League debut in a start (Levi Stoudt, Brandon Williamson, Andrew Abbott, Lyon Richardson, Connor Phillips)...Was one of 16 players to make his Major League debut and one of 23 rookies to make at least one appearance for the Reds...Spent most of the season in the Minor Leagues...Made all 28 of his appearances for Class AA Chattanooga (9gs, 8-3, 3.69) before he was promoted as a substitute player on 9/1, after reliever RHP Fernando Cruz and starters RHP Hunter Greene and RHP Ben Lively went on the COVID-19 injured list...Started the 15-7 loss vs Cubs on 9/3 and the 4-3 loss vs StL on 9/9 before he returned to Chattanoga on 9/10, when Greene came off the COVID-19 injured list...Didn't pitch for the Lookouts before he returned to the Reds on 9/14, when RHP Tejay Antone went on the 15-day injured list with right elbow tendinitis...In the 8-4 loss on 9/17 at NYM threw 3.0 innings in relief of starter LHP Brandon Williamson...returned to the Minors the next day, when LHP Alex Young came off the injured list and RHP Connor Overton was promoted to start that night vs the Twins.
