President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement.

Poyner, 25, has made 10 relief appearances over five stints -- the first of his big league career -- with Boston this season, allowing two runs on 12 hits over 10.2 innings (1.69 ERA) with 10 strikeouts and one walk. Major league left-handed hitters are 2-for-14 (.143) against him, recording only one extra-base hit (triple) with five strikeouts. In 34 minor league appearances this season, the left-hander has posted a 3.07 ERA (15 ER/44.0 IP). Selected by Boston in the 14th round of the 2015 June Draft, Poyner has appeared in 133 minor league games in his career, posting a 2.51 ERA (54 ER/193.2 IP) with 46 saves and 204 strikeouts compared to 41 walks.

Scott, 29, has spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Pawtucket, going 3-3 with three saves, a 1.86 ERA (10 ER/48.1 IP), and 63 strikeouts over 45 relief appearances. He has held left-handed hitters to a .399 OPS with the PawSox, surrendering only one extra-base hit in 61 at-bats. The left-hander has also made two appearances for Boston this season, on June 19 at Minnesota and July 13 against Toronto. In 2017, Scott led Red Sox left-handers with 57 appearances in relief, posting a 3.79 ERA (15 ER/35.2 IP) and a 0.98 WHIP while holding opposing left-handed hitters to a .121 batting average. Scott was signed by the Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent in 2011.

Cuevas, 27, has appeared in two major league games over three stints with Boston this season, allowing one run on two hits in 3.0 innings. He is 10-7 with a 3.39 ERA (51 ER/135.1 IP) in 23 starts with the PawSox this season, striking out 121 hitters and walking 38. Originally signed by Boston as an international free agent in 2008, Cuevas made his major league debut with the Red Sox in 2016 before splitting the 2017 season between the Miami Marlins and Detroit Tigers organizations. The Venezuelan native returned to the Red Sox organization in December 2017, signing as a minor league free agent.

Lin, who will wear number 30, has gone 8-for-44 (.182) with two doubles in 20 games over four stints with Boston this season. The 24-year-old left-handed hitter has also batted .307 (85-for-277) with five home runs and an .810 OPS in 68 games for Pawtucket. He has hit safely in 44 of 50 games since May 27, batting .336 (71-for-211) in that time. Signed by Boston in 2012 as an international free agent, the Taiwanese native has hit .226 (21-for-93) in 42 major league games since his 2017 debut, making 14 starts at shortstop, six at third base, and five at second base.

Travis, 25, has appeared in five games (four starts) over two stints with Boston this season, going 3-for-16 (.188) with two walks and three RBI. He has also hit .258 (93-for-361) with eight home runs and 43 RBI in 97 games for Pawtucket, starting 45 games at first base, 35 in left field, and 17 at designated hitter. During a 38-game stretch with the PawSox from June 30-August 17, Travis went 50-for-148 (.338) with four home runs and 22 RBI. The right-handed hitter was selected by Boston in the second round of the 2014 June Draft and made his major league debut in 2017, batting .263 (20-for-76) with six doubles in 33 games.

Rodriguez, 25, threw 4.0 scoreless innings in each of his two rehab assignment starts for Portland, allowing just three hits while striking out 14 batters. He has not allowed a run over his last 19.0 innings with the Red Sox, a career-long streak and the second-longest active scoreless streak in the majors. The left-hander has already set a career high in wins this season, going 11-3 with a 3.44 ERA (40 ER/104.2 IP) and 110 strikeouts over 19 starts, with the Red Sox going 16-3 in those games. Acquired by Boston from Baltimore on July 31, 2014, Rodriguez is 30-23 with a 4.05 ERA (212 ER/470.2 IP) in 85 major league appearances (84 starts), all with the Red Sox.

Vázquez, 28, was placed on the disabled list on July 8 after suffering a right fifth finger fracture. Prior to the injury, he hit .213 (44-for-207) over 60 games for the Red Sox, helping the team to a 39-15 record in his 54 starts behind the plate. He went 4-for-13 with a walk and four RBI over a four-game rehab stint between Portland and Pawtucket, starting three games at catcher and one as the designated hitter. Over parts of four major league seasons for the Red Sox (2014, '16-18), the Puerto Rican catcher has hit .249 (219-for-878) with 10 home runs in 271 games. His 38.7% career caught-stealing rate (48-for-124) leads active catchers (min. 200 games).

Wright, 34, was placed on the 10-day disabled list with left knee inflammation on June 26, retroactive to June 23. He made his lone rehab appearance Tuesday for Pawtucket against Lehigh Valley, throwing 2.0 scoreless innings with one walk, one strikeout, and zero hits allowed. In 10 appearances (four starts) with Boston this season, the right-hander is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA (15 ER/40.0 IP), compiling a 24.2-inning scoreless streak from May 24-June 16. Wright, who began the season on the disabled list recovering from left knee surgery, is 23-15 with a 3.90 ERA (142 ER/327.2 IP) in 65 major league appearances (44 starts), all with the Red Sox from 2013-18.
