Play Ball Weekend
The Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Royals Foundation, and Kansas City Urban Youth Academy will celebrate MLB PLAY BALL Weekend presented by Nike from June 5–7, 2026, with three days of youth‑focused clinics and activities designed to introduce and grow the game of baseball and softball throughout the Kansas City community. All participants will receive a PLAY BALL T‑shirt and a Franklin Bat & Ball set.
Overview:
Royals x Chiefs Clinic (Ages 7–13)
Friday, June 5 | 9:00–11:00 AM
Join us for a unique opportunity to learn from both the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs! This camp will focus on skill development, teamwork, and fun across both baseball and football.
Cost: $10 per participant (no equipment needed)

Play Ball Clinic (Invite Only – RBI Celebration) (Ages 5–12)
Friday, June 5 | 6:00–8:30 PM
We’re kicking off PLAY BALL Weekend with a fun, invite-only clinic at the Urban Youth Academy for RBI participants! This special event celebrates both baseball and softball while bringing our RBI community together.
Check-in begins at 6:00 PM, with programming from 6:30–8:30 PM. Participants will rotate through age-appropriate activities, with younger athletes enjoying a T-ball clinic and ages 8–12 competing in a wiffle ball tournament.
All teams are encouraged to come out for food, festivities, and fun—it’s a great chance to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the evening together!
This event will also mark the conclusion of Junior RBI, as we celebrate the growth and accomplishments of our participants and all they’ve achieved this season.

Play Ball Clinic (Ages 5–12)
Saturday, June 6 | 9:30–11:30 AM
On Saturday, the Royals will host a free PLAY BALL Clinic for children ages 5–12, introducing baseball and softball in a fun, engaging environment.
Ages 5–8: Check-in at 9:00 a.m. | Clinic from 9:30–10:30 a.m.
Ages 9–12: Check-in at 10:30 a.m. | Clinic from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Participants will rotate through skill-building stations focused on fundamentals, teamwork, and play.
Location: Kauffman Stadium
Pitch, Hit & Run (Ages 7–14)
Sunday, June 7 | 8:30 AM–12:00 PM
This free MLB event gives youth the chance to showcase their skills in pitching, hitting, and running—with the potential to advance all the way to the World Series Finals! It’s a great opportunity for players to compete, grow, and experience the game in a new way.
