NEW YORK – Tuesday’s game between the Mets and Braves has been postponed due to heavy rain in the forecast. It will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Wednesday, with start times at 1:10 and 7:10 p.m. ET.
Though little rain fell over Queens on Tuesday morning, thunderstorms were forecast to intensify by early evening. The National Weather Service forecasted up to two inches of rain with winds reaching 15 mph.
AJ Smith-Shawver is expected to come off the injured list to start Game 1, his first MLB game since tearing his right UCL in May 2025, with Chris Sale getting the call in Game 2. Sean Manaea will start the opener for the Mets, followed by Christian Scott in the nightcap opposite Sale.
Fans with tickets to Tuesday's originally scheduled game can use them for the night game Wednesday. Those who do not attend the makeup will automatically receive a voucher to a remaining 2026 Mets home game. More information is available at Mets.com/Rain.
