The Blue Jays’ top prospect is moving up another level.
JoJo Parker, MLB Pipeline’s No. 1 Blue Jays prospect and No. 27 overall prospect in baseball, is being promoted to High-A Vancouver, according to MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson. Parker, who turned 20 years old on Saturday, had an .859 OPS with 13 home runs and 22 stolen bases in 87 games with Single-A Dunedin.
Parker’s promotion is hardly a surprise given the recent tear he’s been on. In a doubleheader for Dunedin on Friday, Parker recorded five hits, including a home run and a pair of doubles. Parker had two knocks in Game 1 on Friday and went 3-for-4 in Game 2 with a dinger and two doubles.
Parker, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2025 Draft, is the clear-cut shortstop of the future in Toronto, especially after the Blue Jays traded Arjun Nimmala to the Angels for starter José Soriano. While he just departed his teen years, Parker’s production and prospect pedigree mean we could see the talented shortstop make his mark in the Majors sooner rather than later.
