BALTIMORE -- After playing through continuous rain during Friday night's game and in consideration of field conditions, Saturday's scheduled game between the Orioles and Detroit Tigers has been postponed due to ongoing inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a split-admission doubleheader on Sunday. Separate tickets will be required to attend each game.
Game 1 will now begin at 12:35 p.m. ET, with Game 2 scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Gates for Game 1 will open at 11:30 a.m. and gates for Game 2 will open at 5 p.m.
The Orioles will send out right-hander Brandon Young (3-1, 4.25 ERA) for Game 1 and left-hander Trevor Rogers (2-5, 6.87) for Game 2. Young is coming off a season-low 3 2/3 innings pitched in Baltimore’s 7-3 win at Washington on May 17. Rogers has lost five consecutive decisions and completed four innings or fewer in his last three starts.
The Tigers will start lefty Framber Valdez (2-3, 4.58) in the early game and have yet to name their starter for the second contest. Valdez will be looking for his first win since going six innings in a 6-2 win at Boston on April 19 at Boston. The most likely candidates for the late game are Troy Melton -- who would have to be activated from the 60-day IL (right elbow) -- or Keider Montero.
Tickets for Saturday's postponed game will automatically be valid for Game 2 on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. and 15,000 fans will receive the Samuel Basallo Bobblehead giveaway, presented by Giant Food. Original ticket buyers for Saturday's postponed game who are unable to attend on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. should visit Orioles.com/Weather for options.
Tickets purchased for the originally scheduled 1:35 p.m. game on Sunday are automatically valid for the new 12:35 p.m. start time. Pregame Kids Autographs as part of Family Sundays, and postgame Kids Run The Bases, presented by Weis Markets are canceled.
Fans can continue to access their tickets through the MLB Ballpark App and can transfer or resell these tickets at SeatGeek.com.
