DETROIT -- Those looking for signs of warm hope amidst a miserable Michigan winter now have a date. Spring Training begins for the Tigers on Wednesday, Feb. 14, when pitchers and catchers hold their first formal workout at the Tigertown complex in Lakeland, Fla.

Detroit's first full-squad workout is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 18. The team announced both dates on Friday. Reporting dates for both groups are the day before their first workouts, but many players show up early and work out on their own or in small groups.
