DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today acquired righthanded pitcher Dario Agrazal from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash considerations.

Agrazal, 24, saw time at three levels of the Pirates organization in 2019, including his first Major League action. In 15 appearances, including 14 starts, with Pittsburgh, Agrazal had a 4-5 record with a 4.91 ERA (73.1IP/40ER) and 41 strikeouts. The 6-2, 240-pound righthander also combined to make 16 starts between Double A Altoona and Triple A Indianapolis, compiling a 5-5 record with a 4.45 ERA (89.0IP/44ER) and 74 strikeouts, while walking just 12. He was named the International League Player of the Week for the week ending May 5 after going 1-0 with a 1.32 ERA (13.2IP/2ER) and 13 strikeouts over two starts.

A native of Aguadulce, Panama, Agrazal has made 114 appearances, including 111 starts, in his career at the Minor League level, and has a 38-36 record with a 3.62 ERA (608.2IP/245ER) and 394 strikeouts. He was ranked as the No. 26 prospect in the Pirates organization by MLB Pipeline following the 2018 season. Agrazal was selected to the New York-Penn League All-Star Team in 2015 and the Florida State League All-Star Team in 2017.

With the acquisition of Agrazal, the Tigers 40-man roster is now at 40.
