Delmonico day to day with bruised right quad

CHICAGO -- Nicky Delmonico left Wednesday afternoon's 6-5 loss to the Pirates at Guaranteed Rate Field in the fifth inning with a bruised right quad after the White Sox left fielder collided with first baseman Josh Bell on a single to end the third. Delmonico's soft liner went against the shift, but shortstop would hustle to nab it and fire home to catch at the plate.
"A little charlie horse," said White Sox manager Rick Renteria of Delmonico's injury. "With Bell at first, they knocked knee to thigh [with Delmonico's right leg getting injured], just below the quad, above the knee. They worked on it between innings, and when he came in it was stiff, so I made a change."
