MLB All-Star Live Auction brings in over $3 million for presidential baseballs

July 14th, 2026

Earlier on Tuesday, the 22nd annual MLB All-Star Live Auction presented by Hunt Auctions saw the Commander in Chief Master Set of Presidential Baseballs bring in a record $3,055,000.

The collection includes 21 individually-autographed baseballs with signatures from every president from Theodore Roosevelt to Donald Trump, spanning the period from 1901-2026. Some of the baseballs are even from ceremonial first pitches.

“The labor of love and appreciation for the history of baseball, along with its relationship with the presidency, that embodies this collector’s pursuit of these treasures is as impressive as the objects within,” said David Hunt, the president of Hunt Auctions. “The incredible pricing achieved today further cements the long shared American tradition of baseball and the presidency.”

This year’s auction was particularly special, as the nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States with All-Star festivities held in Philadelphia, the city where the Declaration of Independence was signed. The auction was held within Capital One All-Star Village at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Also featured in this year’s live auction was the jersey worn by Phillies left-hander Tug McGraw during the clinching game of the 1980 World Series. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the jersey benefited the Tug McGraw Foundation.

The auction also included items from the private collection of former Yankees All-Star shortstop and 1978 World Series MVP Bucky Dent, Negro League historian and author Phil Dixon and Babe Ruth confidant and Indy Car icon Jim Chapman.

Another unique item in the auction was a 1975 North Carolina Dixie Youth Baseball Tournament program signed by a 12-year-old Michael Jordan, who helped his team win the state championship before going on to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
