Original Colt .45s jersey among several giveaways during Legends Weekend
Weekend to include over 40 former Astros players as club culminates 50th anniversary celebration
HOUSTON, TX - The original Colt .45s replica jersey, which includes the revolver, is one of several giveaway items for fans during Legends Weekend at Minute Maid Park.
The Colt .45s jersey with the revolver was added to this weekend’s list of giveaway items by Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane as a result of feedback from Astros fans. This popular jersey, which is presented by Landry’s, will be available to 10,000 fans as they enter the gates prior to Friday’s 7:05 p.m. game vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates. It will be one of two giveaway items that evening as the Astros will also be giving away a 50th anniversary canvas art piece, presented by The Methodist Hospital System.
Friday night will also feature Craig Biggio throwing out the ceremonial first pitch in what will be the final night of the season-long Flashback Fridays promotion.
For Saturday’s 6:05 p.m. game, 10,000 fans will receive a replica shooting star jersey, presented by Xfinity, which was first worn by the Astros when the Astrodome was opened in 1965. Saturday will also feature a special pregame ceremony honoring more than 40 former Astros players that will be participating.
A replica rainbow jersey, presented by Farmers Insurance, will be the giveaway item on Sunday prior to the 1::05 p.m. game vs. the Pirates.
Each day’s replica giveaway jersey will coincide with the uniform that the Astros players will wear during that particular game. Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Astros ticket office at 1-877-9Astros or online at www.astros.com.
