Q: What is Light Up the Park?
A: Light Up the Park presented by Houston Methodist is a brand-new holiday lights exhibit hosted inside Daikin Park, transforming the Astros’ beloved ballpark into a glowing winter wonderland. Guests will enjoy a self-guided walking tour through dazzling light displays and iconic stadium spaces.

Q: What can I expect during the experience?
A: Visitors will enjoy:

  • A self-guided walking tour through multiple areas of Daikin Park
  • Stunning light installations along concourses, in our back-of-house tunnels and out onto the field warning track for the grand finale!
  • Behind-the-scenes access to stadium areas rarely open to fans
  • Photo-worthy moments and festive backdrops perfect for holiday memories, including Santa photos in our Home Bullpen!

Q: Where does the Light Up the Park lights tour take place?
A: The experience takes place entirely within Daikin Park, including both public and exclusive areas of the stadium.

Q: How long does the experience take?
A: Most guests spend 60 minutes exploring the lights, but you're welcome to take your time and enjoy the sights at your own pace.

Q: Do children get in free?
A: Children 2 and under get into Light up the Park for free.

Q: What else is there to do besides the lights walking tour?
A: Sign up for your Santa photo or Orbit photo in the Astros home bullpen – where a festive baseball-themed backdrop will provide you with a unique and one-of-a-kind memory to share. At the end of the walking tour, you’ll want to head on up to our 3rd baseline, known as Holly Home Run Lane is full of great food and activations!
  • Grab a hot cocoa or a specialty cocktail along with a snack.
  • Order a Cookie Decorating Kit from our friends at Aramark and decorate to your heart’s content.
  • Write a letter to Santa and drop it in our North Pole Mailbox!
  • Have your face painted to get into the holiday spirit!
  • Visit our coloring station and create some holiday art to take home.
  • Do your holiday shopping in our festive retail shop – full of great Astros themed gifts – from ugly sweaters to ornaments, pajamas and so much more!

Q: What other fun things are planned?
  • Join us for our movie nights:
    • Our date night movie is a screening on El Grande of The Holiday. Bring your blankets and your date and join us on the field after your holiday lights tour! You’ll want to buy your tickets and add on the movie night for December 13th!
    • Our family movie night is a screening on our giant LED screen (El Grande!) of The Polar Express. Bring your blankets and join us on the field to watch the movie before your holiday lights tour! Buy your tickets and add on the movie option for December 20th!
  • And join the fun for our themed nights:
    • Ugly Sweater Night on December 6th
    • Pajama Night on December 23rd
    • Tag us in your photos at the ballpark and you might get featured on our social channels!

Q: What should I wear?
A: We recommend comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. The event is a walking tour! On cold weather nights, you’ll want to dress warmly. Even though rain won’t deter us since we have a retractable roof, the ballpark itself is not heated.

Q: Can I take photos?
A: Absolutely! There are plenty of photo opportunities throughout the exhibit. Feel free to snap and share your holiday memories.

Q: Is this a ticketed event?
A: Yes, tickets are required and you’ll use your MLB Ballpark App (just like you do for Astros games!). Prices vary depending on date and time.

Q: Is it family-friendly?
A: Definitely! Light Up the Park is designed for guests of all ages and makes a perfect outing for families, couples, and groups.

Q: What can I bring into the ballpark?
A: Prohibited items are the same as all of our home games at Daikin Park, including no outside food and beverage and no wagons. Click HERE to see the additional list of prohibited items.

Q: Is the event accessible?
Yes, Daikin Park is ADA-compliant. Wheelchairs are available to rent by making a reservation ahead of time. Click HERE to reserve your wheelchair.

Q: Is this a recurring event?
A: This is our first year hosting Light Up the Park, and we hope to make it a beloved annual tradition!
