Have you ever seen a hot streak like THIS?!

6:31 AM UTC

You’ve heard of hitters being on a hot streak at the dish. But you’ve maybe never seen anything like what Henry Bolte is doing right now.

The Athletics’ No. 5 prospect delivered his second consecutive 5-for-5 performance during Triple-A Las Vegas’ 13-8 loss to St. Paul at Las Vegas Ballpark on Saturday night. But these weren't merely seeing-eye singles. After collecting five extra-base hits Friday, Bolte delivered four more -- two home runs, two doubles -- Saturday, giving him nine in a two-game stretch. Dating back to 1900 at the Major League level, just nine players (most recently, Bolte’s former teammate, Nick Kurtz) have collected even seven extra-base hits in back-to-back contests.

Rolling it back to Thursday night, Bolte has collected a hit in 12 consecutive plate appearances, something not on record to have been achieved at the Major League level in the Expansion Era (since 1961).

The record at the MLB level for consecutive at-bats with a hit is 12, done by Jose Miranda of the Twins from July 3-6, 2024. But that streak included a hit by pitch. Per Elias, no player in the Expansion Era has reached 11 hits in 11 plate appearances at the big league level.

Zoom out to include the entire month of May and Bolte is 24-for-38 and has 46 total bases with an 1.861 OPS across eight contests, leading the Minors in almost every major statistical category. He has raised his season average (.351) by 92 points and his OPS (1.088) by nearly 260 points over the span.

It’s an unprecedented run for one of the Athletics’ most exhilarating prospects. Bolte has long been on the organization’s radar as a future star, earning plus marks for his makeup and work ethic, along with his package of on-the-field tools.

“I think we have a great player in the making,” A’s Minor League hitting coordinator Jim Eppard said on A’s Cast last summer.

Bolte starred during Cactus League play this spring, slashing .348/.400/.630 across 18 contests, including taking part in a home run bonanza on March 13. While he went just 2-for-13 out of the gate for Las Vegas, he pounded seven homers in April and then topped them all Wednesday night when he obliterated a 479-foot roundtripper, the farthest Statcast-recorded hit of 2026 at any level.

Sure, Bolte is taking his hacks in the hitter-friendly environs of the Pacific Coast League, but just to recap: Hits in 12 consecutive plate appearances. Nine extra-base hits -- including four homers -- in two games. Four four-hit games in the span of nine days. The longest Statcast-tracked home run in affiliated baseball.

It’s all coming up Henry Bolte.
