Doyle leaves game with left side contusion, Rockies to provide update

DENVER -- Rockies center fielder jarred his left shoulder attempting to make a diving play in the top of the first inning of the Rockies' 10-0 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday night, and was removed before he had a chance to bat. The Rockies called his injury a left side contusion postgame, and manager Warren Schaeffer said the team would have more information Wednesday.

Doyle, who won Gold Glove Awards in 2023 and 2024, was trying to field a drive by Josh Jung that bounced to the wall for a two-run double against left-hander Sammy Peralta, who was making his Rockies debut.

Much like fellow outfielder Jordan Beck, who struggled offensively before sustaining a left hamstring strain and going to the 10-day injured list on Monday, Doyle has largely scuffled and lost playing time. Doyle entered Tuesday’s game batting .207 with one home run and four RBIs. He led the team in stolen bases with nine.
