NEW YORK – is often his own harshest critic after his start days, finding the tiniest flaws and areas to work on even after the “good” outings.

It’s going to be difficult to find any blemishes from Thursday’s outing at Yankee Stadium.

Making his third start of 2026, Springs continued what has been a strong start to his campaign by carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning of a 1-0 victory over the Yankees.

The left-hander’s bid for history was ultimately denied by Ben Rice, who singled with one out in the seventh. But Springs finished the inning to complete seven innings of scoreless dominance before handing it off to the bullpen, which saw Justin Sterner and Hogan Harris seal the win by blanking the Yankees over the final two innings.

Springs is now 2-0 with a 1.47 ERA through his first three starts, and the A’s have won back-to-back series after dropping their first two of the year. It was the A's first 1-0 win over the Yankees since April 25, 1979, and their first series victory at Yankee Stadium since 2016.
