Condon's power surge at Triple-A rolls on with two-homer game

Charlie Condon has been putting on a lot of shows in June with his power.

The Rockies’ No. 2 prospect went yard twice and drove in five runs during Triple-A Albuquerque’s 11-5 win over Salt Lake at Isotopes Park on Sunday. Condon, who has three homers in the past three games and nine this month, reached base four times and scored four runs in a three-hit afternoon.

MLB’s No. 70 prospect started his afternoon with a solo homer to left field off right-hander Brett Kerry (Angels). An inning later, Condon smashed a three-run homer to center, once again off Kerry. His 17th homer of the season exited the bat at 104.7 mph and traveled 431 feet. It marked the fourth career multihomer game of Condon's career, his second this month and third of the season.

Although the 2024 third overall Draft pick lost time last season due to a left wrist fracture, he was fairly productive in 99 games with 14 homers and an .820 OPS. But he's really shown off his penchant for power in 2026, paving the way for a slew of career highs. He's already bypassed his career best in homers, and can also set new marks in doubles, RBIs and walks within the next few games.

The month of June has been particularly kind to Condon. He's slashed .321/.455/.778 for a 1.233 OPS with 30 RBIs, which lead all of Triple-A. Over the past 10 games, he's hit four long balls while posting a .405 average and a .973 slugging percentage.

Condon stood out as one of college baseball’s best power bats at Georgia with 62 home runs and a 1.433 OPS in two seasons.

But that's not the only sizzling bat in the Isotopes’ lineup. Zac Veen also homered Sunday and has compiled a slash line of .357/.386/.762 in his past 10 games. Although a 25-game hitting streak for the Rockies’ No. 13 prospect was snapped Friday, he's responded with four hits in his past two contests.
