ATLANTA (October 7, 2023) -- The Atlanta Braves today set their 26-man roster for the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The best-of-five series begins with Game 1 tonight at 6:07 p.m. at Truist Park. The roster features 12 pitchers and 14 position players -- two catchers, six infielders and six outfielders.

Eighteen players on Atlanta’s roster have previous postseason experience, including 13 that were with the club last season during its NLDS matchup with Philadelphia -- LHP Max Fried, RHP Raisel Iglesias, LHP A.J. Minter, RHP Spencer Strider, C Travis d’Arnaud, SS Orlando Arcia, INF Vaughn Grissom, 1B Matt Olson, 3B Austin Riley, OF Ronald Acuña Jr., OF Michael Harris II, OF Marcell Ozuna and OF Eddie Rosario.

C Travis d’Arnaud has the most postseason experience among position players on the Braves’ roster, while LHP Max Fried leads all pitchers on the staff with 18 playoff appearances and 10 starts. D’Arnaud has nine home runs in 52 career postseason games and caught all 140.0 innings of Atlanta’s playoff run in 2021, including all 53.0 frames of the World Series. Fried is 2-4 with a 4.43 ERA (30 ER/61.0 IP) in 18 career postseason games, including the win in Game 6 of the 2021 World Series that clinched the title for Atlanta.

RHP Michael Tonkin, who debuted in 2013, and RHP Kirby Yates, who debuted in 2014, both make their first postseason rosters. Tonkin entered the 2023 season with the fourth-earliest debut date by a player in baseball yet to appear in a postseason game, while Yates ranked 10th.

Atlanta today reinstated LHP Max Fried and RHP Daysbel Hernández from the 15- and 60-day injured lists, respectively, prior to adding them to the roster and placed RHP Kyle Wright on the 60-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.  

Game 2 will be here at Truist Park on Monday, October 9, while Game 3 will be played in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
