Fischer sets Brewers' affiliate record, keeps pace with High-A HR lead

The Brewers' system has produced a pair of No. 1 overall prospects recently in Jackson Chourio and Jesús Made, accomplished hitters with nearly limitless potential who enjoyed stops with High-A Wisconsin. But not even they could set forth on the power surge Andrew Fischer has embarked on so far this season.

Milwaukee’s No. 6 prospect seemingly refuses to stop mashing home runs at an elite rate at High-A. That stretch rolled on Friday night when the left-handed-hitting third baseman launched his 17th home run of the season, tied for the lead at the entire level, off Cedar Rapids right-hander Brian Zeldin (Twins) in the sixth inning of Wisconsin’s 8-3 loss at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Only Jason Schiavone (Astros), who recently earned a promotion to Double-A Corpus Christi, had as many homers in High-A during his 35 games for Asheville in 2026.

To go further inside the streak, Fischer has slugged three long balls in his past five games and six over his past 13 contests. These homers have led the club's 2025 first-rounder to set Wisconsin’s single-season record (since transitioning to the High-A level in 2021) with 17 home runs, needing just 48 games to do so.

Despite going deep once through his first 15 games, Fischer has since followed with a homer binge. He posted a pair of multihomer games on April 23 and May 10, and also left the yard in consecutive games on four separate occasions, including three in a row from May 22-26.

Fischer has been particularly locked in over his past 13 games with a slash line of .364/.541/.795, vaulting him into second place in the Midwest League with a 1.061 OPS this year.
