Día del Niño

Día del Niño (Children’s Day) is a national holiday celebrated in many Latin American countries and around the world. It’s a day when families celebrate their children and the joys of childhood with feel-good activities the whole family can enjoy. Now, more than ever, is a great time to be with your kids and honor the contributions they and other youth make to our communities.

Today we join México in their celebration, as every April 30 Día del Niño is celebrated throughout the country.

As we continue to stay home, let's continue to find new ways of creating and having fun together!

At Home Mini Baseball Piñata Instructions

Here’s what you need:

  • Empty container
  • Spoon/Whisk/Stirring stick
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of flour
  • Small balloon
  • Newspaper strips (1 to 3 inches wide)
  • Red and white tissue paper
  • White and red paint (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Candy (Optional: traditional Mexican sweets like Duvalin, Vero Mango, Pulparindo, and Mazapán)
  • Piece of ribbon or thin rope
