What’s Happening at Citizens Bank Park: Phillies vs. Blue Jays, May 9-10

Come cheer on the Philadelphia Phillies as they host the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, May 9, to Wednesday, May 10, at Citizens Bank Park! Here’s a look at some of the fan highlights surrounding the games:

1. On Tuesday, May 9, the Phillies & Temple Health will honor healthcare heroes at Nurses Night presented by Temple Health before and during the 6:40 p.m. game.

  • More than 3,000 nurses will be at the game! Highlights include local nurses throwing a ceremonial first pitch and changing a base in the 3rd
  • Plus, fans can learn about nursing and career opportunities with Temple Health at the First Base Plaza. Nurse leaders will be available for real-time interviews and have the ability to make an offer on the spot with signing bonuses ranging from $7,500 to $20,000.

2. Also happening on Tuesday: Hatfield Phillies Franks Dollar Dog Night and New Era 59Fifty Day!

  • 59FIFTY® Day honors every moment of New Era’s history, from the fans in the stands to the players on the field, and every moment in between. Check out specialty New Era caps available for purchase at all retail locations.

3. Pediatric stroke survivor Chase Schweiger, who is 16 years old, will throw a ceremonial first pitch before the 4:05 p.m. game on Wednesday, May 10, during Pediatric Stroke Awareness Month. Schweiger is representing ZZ Dance Studio whose charitable efforts go to fund groups such as Make-A-Wish of NJ.

  • On May 19, 2014, Schweiger suffered a massive stroke at the age seven. The Schweiger family now helps to educate parents and medical professionals that children can have strokes and how to spot the symptoms of a stroke with the acronym FAST (F for facial drooping, A for arm weakness, S for speech difficulties and T for time, to call 911 as soon as possible.)

4. Hot off the press! The 2023 Phillies Yearbook is now available at the New Era Phillies Team Store. Fans can relive the 2022 National League Champions postseason run, look back at the pennant-winning 1983 and 1993 teams and much more. The Phillies Yearbook is also available on phillies.com.

5. The Phantastic Auction, hosted by the Phillies and SportsRadio 94 WIP, is officially underway! Highlights include 61 once-in-a-lifetime player and game day experiences, unique memorabilia, and more up for bid until May 19 at phillies.com to benefit charity.

  • The auction features the chance to manage the Phillies in 2024 Spring Training with manager Rob Thomson, host a kid’s Wiffle ball party with 2022 NLCS MVP Bryce Harper or Home Run Derby with Kyle Schwarber in The Yard, take part in a private hitting lesson with All-Star infielder Trea Turner, and more.
  • Memorabilia up for bid includes a Trek Bikes Project One Ultimate Madone, Phillies' Style (worth over $25,000), 2023 Philadelphia Phillies signed authentic Citizens Bank Park seats, the ultimate collection of 100 autographed Phillies bats, among others.
