Originally signed by the Braves as an 18-year-old international free agent from the Dominican Republic on June 11, 2018...Is the middle child among a set of triplets...his twin brother, Rolddy, was also signed by the Braves, just a little over a year after Roddery (June 14, 2019)...Rolddy made his Major League debut with the Braves on Sept. 2, 2025 and made three relief appearances with Atlanta as part of his debut season...In 2025, Muñoz utilized a five-pitch mix, relying heavily on his slider, cutter, sinker and four-seamer...he averaged 95.2 mph with his fastball in the Majors last season...Muñoz tossed the fastest pitch of his MLB career last season, a 98.5-mph fastball to Pete Alonso...The Astros are the seventh organization Muñoz has been employed by since the middle of the 2023 season...was first claimed off waivers by the Nationals from the Braves (July 17, 2023)...the following offseason, was claimed by the Pirates (Dec. 1, 2023) and then traded to the Marlins (Dec. 20, 2023)...after spending the entire 2024 season in the Marlins organization, he was claimed by the Cardinals (Nov. 1, 2024)...this past offseason, he was claimed by the Reds (Nov. 6, 2025) and then signed a Minor League contract with the Reds (Dec. 2, 2025)...the Astros then selected him in the 2025 Rule 5 Draft...Muñoz is the Astros' first Rule 5 Draft selection since they took converted outfielder LHP Anthony Gose in 2017...the Astros have found some recent gems in the Rule 5 Draft, including LHP Wesley Wright, who appeared in 286 games through six seasons with Houston (2008-13), along with OF Willy Taveras, who batted .284 and swiped 68 stolen bases in three seasons as the club's center fielder (2004-06)...perhaps no Rule 5 Draft selection has had a bigger impact on the organization than RHP Josh Fields, who the Astros traded to the Dodgers in August 2016 in exchange for future Rookie of the Year and three-time All-Star, Yordan Alvarez...Due to being a Rule 5 selection, Muñoz must remain on the Astros active roster throughout the 2026 season (barring an IL stint)...if the Astros wish to option Muñoz, he must first clear waivers and then be offered back to the Reds for $50,000 (half the price of what a drafting teams pays to original club at Rule 5 Draft).

Invited to his first Major League Spring Training as a part of the 40-man roster with Atlanta. Made one start with Double-A Mississippi to start the year, allowing three runs on three hits over 4.0 innings with four walks and three strikeouts. Moved to Triple-A Gwinnett in a relief role, where he went 1-2 with a 4.63 ERA (12 ER/23.1 IP) with 16 walks and 21 strikeouts. Had contract selected by Braves on June 6 but was optioned to FCL Braves before seeing game action. Allowed one run in 8.0 innings pitched over five relief appearances with 10 strikeouts. Returned to Triple-A Gwinnett for two relief appearances, allowing one run in 4.0 innings in two games before being designated for assignment. Was claimed by Washington on July 17 and spent remainder of the season with Triple-A Rochester. In 12 games (10 starts), went 1-3 with a 6.98 ERA (30 ER/38.2 IP) with 27 walks and 41 strikeouts.
2022
Combined to make 22 appearances between High-A Rome and Double-A Mississippi, going 8-4 with a 4.66 ERA (52 ER/100.1 IP) and 119 strikeouts...Opened the season with Rome and went 8-4 with a 4.03 ERA (40 ER/89.1 IP) over 19 starts until a promotion to Mississippi on Aug. 9...Over his final seven starts in Rome, from June 26 to Aug. 4, went 6-1 with a 1.67 ERA, allowing just seven earned runs over 37.2 innings…Struck out 49 in that span...In three starts with Mississippi, pitched to a 9.82 ERA (12 ER/11.0 IP)…Seven of the 12 earned runs came in just 1.0 inning in his debut with the club.
