FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is this different than the summer Reds Camp?

Our summer camps run for 30 hours/week from 9am-3pm and cover a wide range of skills. Our Winter Camps take a deeper dive into each of the skills that are offered. However, we do expect that many athletes will decide to do both. Click here if you would like to read about Reds Summer Camps.

What should the camper wear?

Wear flat gym shoes and suitable practice clothes. A uniform is not necessary. You will be given a Winter Training dri-fit t-shirt on the first day.

Do I need to bring a bat?

You only need to bring a bat and a helmet if you are attending the Hitting Session. We will not have extras to share.

What else should I bring?

Please bring water. If you are registered for multiple sessions, it’s also a good idea to bring a snack. There will be a 15-minute break between sessions.

Are parents welcome to observe?

Absolutely.

How many campers will there be?

Each session will have multiple groups running at once based on age. Catching, fielding, and hitting will have no more than 12 per group. Pitching will have no more than 6 per group.

6 to 16 is a wide range of ages and skill levels. How does that work?

Sessions will be divided based on age group. For instance, 1st-3rd graders, 4th-5th graders, etc. We will not have 8th graders with 1st graders, and vice versa.

Who are the coaches?

Coaches will be members of our Reds Camp staff. They will be equipped with a curriculum that supports the age-appropriate training regimen that we use in Spring Training, at GABP and throughout our Reds system.

Will I receive a confirmation?

Yes. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation with further information. In addition, you can expect a reminder email prior to the first camp date.

How do I get my Reds tickets?

Starting in April of the following season, you will be notified via email with the game choices and how to redeem your free tickets. Expect that those tickets will be accessed through the MLB Ballpark app.

Does this qualify for my company’s Child and Dependent Care Credit?

That is a question for your employer or accountant. Most people have found that the Summer Camps do qualify but we ask that you research eligibility for your athlete with respect to the Winter Camps.
