FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is this different than the summer Reds Camp?

Our summer camps run for 30 hours/week from 9a-3p and cover a wide range of baseball/softball skills. We expect that many athletes will decide to do both. Click here if you would like to read about Reds Summer Camps.

What should the camper wear?

Wear flat gym shoes and suitable practice clothes. A uniform is not necessary. You will be given a Winter Training dri-fit T-shirt at the first clinic.

Do I need to bring a bat?

You will only need a bat if you are attending the Hitting Session. And yes, you will need to bring your own bat.

What else should I bring?

Good idea to bring water. Since our Winter Camps are indoors, there may be some restrictions as to where water is allowed. Make sure to write the athlete’s name on his/her water bottle.

Should pitchers bring a catcher?

Yes, pitchers should bring a catcher. He/she can be a sibling, teammate, parent, coach, etc..Catchers 16 years old and younger, will be required to wear a mask. In addition to the mask, it is recommended that all catchers wear appropriate protective gear.

Are parents welcome to observe?

Absolutely.

How many campers will there be?

Each Session will have multiple groups based upon age. In each group, the maximum number of participants will be 10.

6 to 16 is a wide range of ages and skill levels. How does that work?

Within each Session, there will be multiple groups based upon age. While there may be a wide range of ages overall, we will not mix younger athletes with older athletes.

Who are the coaches?

Coaches will be members of our Reds Camp staff. They will be equipped with a curriculum that supports the age-appropriate training regimen that we use in Spring Training, at GABP and throughout our Reds system.

Will I receive a confirmation?

Yes. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation with further information. In addition, you can expect a reminder email prior to the first camp date.

What if I miss a clinic?

Please plan carefully as we will not refund for missed clinics.

How do I get my Reds tickets?

You will be notified via email with the game choices and how to redeem your free tickets. Expect that those tickets will be accessed through the MLB Ballpark app.

Does this qualify for my company’s Child and Dependent Care Credit?

That is a question for your employer or accountant. Most people have found that the Summer Camps do qualify but we ask that you research eligibility for your athlete with respect to the Winter Camps.
