Compiled a 5-3 record, 12 holds, a 4.37 ERA (29 ER/59.2 IP), and 52 strikeouts/9 walks across a career-high 53 relief appearances in his 3rd season with Texas…pitched to a 2.63 ERA (12 ER/41.0 IP) over his first 34 outings, but allowed 18 R-17 ER over final 19 G (18.2 IP) to spike his season ERA to 4.37, 16th-highest among A.L. relief qualifiers…had team-high 18 relief outings with 4+ outs, T11th-most in A.L…surrendered career-high 13 HR, second-most among A.L. relievers (14-LAA’s Jaime Barria)…allowed just nine of 37 (24.3%) inherited runners to score, good for the seventh-lowest strand rate among A.L. relief qualifiers…his 37 inherited runners were 10th-most in the A.L. and easily tops among Rangers relievers (2nd was Sborz w/ 29)…posted reverse splits, as left-handed batters hit .291 (23- 79) while righties hit .261 (41-157)…surrendered just two HR to left-handed batters (Ohtani on 6/15 vs. LAA, Crawford on 9/29 at SEA)…saw far better ERA results on the road (3.46 in 24 G) than at Globe Life Field (5.08 in 24 G).

Went 1-5, 5.68 (49 ER/77.2 IP) in 21 G/20 GS for Round Rock in his 1st action since 2019…ranked among Triple-A West leaders in starts (T6th, 20) and SO (7th, 97), and his 11.2 SO/9 ranked 2nd-highest among pitchers with 70.0+ innings in the league…had a 7.21 ERA (43 ER/53.2 IP) over his 1st 15 G through 8/2…final six G beg. 8/8: 2.25 ERA (6 ER/24.0 IP), .193/.256/.325/.581 opp. slash, 5 BB/26 SO…took loss in start on 5/10 vs. OKC (1.1 IP, 5 R-ER) in his 1st outing since most recent MLB start on 9/21/19 at OAK…on IL 9/22-end of season with blister on left index finger…did not pitch for Round Rock in Alternate Training Site games prior to the season.

2020

Had discomfort throwing in early December 2019 and was given an injection in his left shoulder by Rangers Team Physician Dr. Keith Meister on 12/19/19… once he returned to throwing near the start of Spring Training last year, the discomfort returned…had season-ending surgery performed on 2/28/20 by Dr. Meister to repair fraying and a partial tear in his left labrum…expected to continue his rehabilitation program at Spring Training, and will not be ready for the start of the regular season.

2019

Recalled from Triple-A Nashville prior to ML debut on 8/20 and remained in the Rangers rotation for the rest of the season… opened his big league career by posting no record and a 1.50 ERA (3 ER/18.0 IP) through his 1st three starts, but was tagged for 19 R-ER in just 8.2 IP over his next 3 outings…opponents batted .415/.468/.927/1.395 (17-41) with six home runs during latter stretch after slashing .203/.292/.250/.542 (13-64) in his 1st three starts…before his call-up, combined to go 3-5 with a 3.90 ERA (27 ER/62.1 IP) and 18 BB/64 SO across four levels of the Texas farm system…opponents batted .243/.298/.374/.673…whiffed 9.2 batters per 9.0 IP, 2nd-best figure of his career behind only a 10.4 rate last season…allowed just three HR in 62.1 IP…missed nearly two months during pair of stints on the minor league injured list: 4/5-15 while recovering from a blister and 4/23-6/16 with left shoulder fatigue.

2018

Named the Rays Minor League Pitcher of the Year, leading all Rays minor leaguers with 158 strikeouts…combined to go 9-6 with a 3.08 ERA (47 ER/137.1 IP) over 25 games/22 starts with Charlotte (A+) and Montgomery (AA)…also ranked among TB minor league leaders in both wins (T4th) and ERA (5th)…his strikeout total was 14th-most among all minor league hurlers…returned to Charlotte to open the season and was promoted to Montgomery on 7/9…went 6-1 with a 1.95 ERA (12/55.1 IP) over 9 starts to lead the Biscuits to the Southern League postseason.
