Watch free: Vlad Jr., Blue Jays clash with Sox at Fenway

April 20th, 2022

With the level of talent in the division, every game between American League East rivals has the potential to impact the postseason picture, and you can watch one of these all-important matchups for free when the Red Sox take on the Blue Jays at Fenway Park in MLB.TV’s Free Game of the Day on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. ET.

Last season, the AL East became the second division in the divisional era (since 1969) to have four teams with 90-plus wins (joining the 1978 AL East), and the Red Sox (92-70), Yankees (92-70) and Blue Jays (91-71) all finished within one game of each other behind the first-place Rays (100-62). It’s shaping up to be another tight race this year.

The Red Sox will try to slow down Blue Jays first baseman , who has picked up where he left off after finishing second in the AL MVP Award race last season. The 23-year-old already has a three-homer game under his belt this season, going deep three times against the Yankees on April 13.

Guerrero’s power was on full display when he played at Fenway Park in 2021, especially when he homered in each game of a four-game series in Boston last June.

The Red Sox’s lineup has some offensive firepower of its own led by third baseman , who is off to a hot start after hitting a career-high 38 homers in 2021. Devers’ talents extend beyond the plate, as he showed Monday when he pulled off an incredible slide to elude Twins third baseman Gio Urshela’s tag.
