Rockies Reinstate OF Charlie Blackmon From 15-Day Disabled List

Blackmon Optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has reinstated outfielder Charlie Blackmon from the 15-day disabled list and also optioned Blackmon to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Blackmon, 25, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 4, retroactive to March 26, with turf toe on his left big toe. Blackmon played in 13 games this Spring, hitting .233 (7-for-30) with a home run, an RBI, four walks and four stolen bases. He made his Major League debut on 6/7/11 at SD after being called up mid-season last year and went on to hit .255 (25-for-98) with a double, a home run, eight RBI and five stolen bases for the Rockies. The second round pick in the 2008 Draft by Colorado was placed on the 60-day disabled list with a right foot fracture he suffered rounding second base 7/7/11 at ATL, ending his season. Blackmon is a career .316 (449-for-1420) hitter in 345 minor league games.

The Rockies have 39 active players on their 40-man roster, in addition to having three players on the 15-day disabled list.
