Collins back in 'pen after missing Friday's game

NEW YORK -- Left-handed reliever Tim Collins missed Friday night's game to be with his seriously ill grandfather who underwent surgery, but he was back with the Royals for Saturday's game.

Actually, Collins returned to New York before Friday night's extra-inning game ended.

"He called when we started the 11th and said, 'I'm coming, I'm coming,'" manager Ned Yost said.

However, the game quickly ended in a 4-2 Mets win on Eric Young Jr.'s two-run homer.
