The Red Sox have watched Franklin Arias surge offensively at Double-A in 2026. So much so that the club's top prospect is on his way to the Minors' highest level, where he will be a call away from The Show.
Boston is promoting Arias to Triple-A Worcester, a source told MLB.com on Thursday night.
MLB's No. 7 prospect hadn't been known for his power, but he's definitely displayed it this season. Arias came into the campaign with 18 home runs in his career. He exceeded that mark a little more than halfway through the season with his 19th long ball for the Sea Dogs en route to a 3-2 win over Binghamton at Mirabito Stadium.
At the time of his departure, Arias was all over the Eastern League leaderboards. He topped the circuit with a .994 OPS, stood second in average (.318) and slugging (.587), third in homers and OBP (.407) and fourth in hits (90).
The 20-year-old scored April Player of the Month honors in the league after slashing .375/.432/.764 with a 1.196 OPS and eight long balls. Arias served as the American League's starting second baseman in the All-Star Futures Game and drove in the game’s first run en route to the AL's victory.

Arias’ hit and field tools both grade out at 60. Boston signed him out of Venezuela in 2023 as an international free agent. That summer, he hit .350 in a 37-game pro debut in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League. Next, Arias posted an .896 OPS in 87 games in his first full season in 2024 between the Rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Salem. He played in 116 games over three levels last year, collecting 133 hits en route to a .287 average with 66 RBIs and 62 runs scored.
The addition of Arias’ power this season raised his ceiling considerably, and he leads the Red Sox system in 2026 in average, hits, home runs, RBIs, OPS and total bases.
