It’s difficult to imagine a better April for Rodón. The southpaw threw a no-hitter against the Indians, allowing seven hits over four starts and 25 innings overall. He struck out 36, including a career-high 12 vs. Detroit.

Keller ran into more bad luck in Sunday's game against the Twins, allowing seven runs (two earned) in a big third inning to be handed his third loss of the season. He made it through 4 1/3 innings with three strikeouts, but he's looking to bounce back with a quality start.

Lynn earned the victory in his return from the injured list, working five innings during his first start since April 15. Lynn allowed three runs and had a streak of 66 batters faced without a walk come to an end.

Lynch will make his second career start, after his MLB debut on Monday against the Indians. The Royals' top pitching prospect was tagged for three runs on four hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings with three strikeouts, but he flashed some elite stuff.

Giolito suffered a tough-luck loss on Sunday. The right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) over 5 1/3 innings against Cleveland, while striking out eight. He has a career 7-2 record against the Royals.

Minor relied heavily on his fastball on Tuesday against the Indians, breezing through five innings before loading the bases and giving way to the bullpen in the sixth for the eventual loss. The outing was encouraging for Minor, who has struggled to go deep in games.

Maeda was scheduled to pitch Sunday's postponed game against Detroit, but he will be pushed back two days to the first of Minnesota's highly anticipated battles against the White Sox. He made his first scoreless appearance of 2021 in his last start.

Cease won’t get to hit Tuesday against the Twins after going 3-for-3 in his victory last Tuesday in Cincinnati. But he carries a 2.37 ERA and a 13-inning scoreless streak into his fourth career start vs. Minnesota.

Happ has been the Twins' most consistent starter to begin the season, with two or fewer runs allowed in each of his first five appearances. He'll face his biggest challenge against a White Sox team that is among the best in the Majors against lefties.

Keuchel pitched well enough to win against the Reds last Wednesday, allowing two hits and three walks against one strikeout over seven scoreless innings, but ended up with a no-decision. The southpaw has a 2.25 ERA over his last four starts covering 24 innings.
