HOUSTON -- Astros outfielder Josh Reddick has taken to the No. 2 spot in the batting order. Reddick turned in his biggest game of the season in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Angels, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, triple and home run, falling a single shy of the cycle.
Reddick is hitting .421 (8-for-19) since moving to the No. 2 spot in the batting order last Wednesday in Seattle; he has hit second in five of the past six games. All of those starts have come against right-handed pitching, against which he's hitting .375 (12-for-32).

"I felt pretty good in the six-hole, and it just wasn't going for us," he said. "Ever since me and [Alex Bregman] have switched up, it seems to be working out for both of us. Anytime you're hitting in front of [Jose] Altuve and [Carlos] Correa and [Carlos] Beltran, it's going to make your job a little bit easier, if not a lot easier, because you know those guys are not going to get many pitches, and they're going to try to come after you and get you out quick so they can focus on the game plan with those guys."

Reddick tripled and scored in the first, struck out in the third, doubled and scored in the sixth and hit his first homer of the season to right field in the seventh to make it 5-1.
"He's been really good," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "He provided a nice little spark for us when we needed it. He's up the top of the order, near the top of the order, to hit right-handed pitching. The two-run homer at the end was really big for us to have a bit of breathing room when the top of the order is coming up."
