Astros Golf Foundation announces first-ever Houston Open Concert Series, Nov. 12-13

The concert series will be headlined by Kygo on Nov. 13, Jake Owen to perform Nov. 12

HOUSTON, Texas – The Astros Golf Foundation announces the first-ever Houston Open Concert Series, set to take place at Minute Maid Park, Friday Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13. Electronic music superstar Kygo, with special guest country singer/songwriter Walker Hayes, will take the stage on Saturday, Nov. 13, while country star Jake Owen will kick off the weekend on Friday, Nov. 12. The concert series is in conjunction with the 2021 Houston Open, a PGA Tour event, taking place Nov. 11-14 at Memorial Park Golf Course.

“The Houston Open concert series is an exciting new addition to our Houston Open slate,” said Astros Golf Foundation President Giles Kibbe. “We are thrilled to have two world-renowned artists in Kygo and Jake Owen provide great concerts at Minute Maid Park, adding to the excitement and a full weekend of golf and entertainment for the Houston community.”

Kygo is set to headline the two-day concert series on Saturday, Nov. 13. An EDM superstar, Kygo, a DJ, songwriter and producer, has quickly become a household name and one of the most hyped electronic artists known for his widely popular remixes. Special guest, country singer/songwriter Walker Hayes, with current smash hit single “Fancy Like” will also perform. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

Country star Jake Owen will kick off the first-ever Houston Open concert series on Friday, Nov. 12. Jake Owen’s music has resonated with listeners and audiences everywhere as he boasts multiple No. 1 hit singles, including the twice-platinum anthem and Most Played Song of the Decade, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.” Gates will also open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Monument Records recording artist, Walker Hayes, is a singer/songwriter originally from Mobile, Alabama. 2021 HOUSTON OPEN

Since 1946, the Houston Open has been a staple of the Houston community and is the 10th-longest running event on the PGA Tour. In danger of losing the tournament in Houston, Jim Crane stepped in and formed the Astros Golf Foundation in 2018 to operate the Houston Open. This will be the 74th Houston Open and is set to be played for the second-straight year at the newly-renovated Memorial Park Golf Course. Originally founded in 1912 and after a $34 million dollar renovation prior to the 2020 tournament, Memorial Park is now just one of two municipal courses that is PGA certified.
